Kintra Farm campsite

Last year, touring in Bertie, Kintra Farm campsite on Islay stole my heart.  It ruined all other subsequent campsites.  This holiday weekend we went back, slightly worried that is wouldn't live up to memories.

Its not a site with all mod cons, there isn't a leisure complex, no electricity hook up, you can't empty your chemical toilet if you have one.

Instead it has this

or even just sit looking out to sea and do pretty much nothing but read and sew

I relaxed as soon as we hit the sand - and have come back after 4 days feeling that we have been away for a month.

Wonderful, wonderful place.

Not much work is getting done

Oh dear, my "to do" lists are laughing at me.
Everything seems to have come to a halt - the school holidays have caught up with me and I am getting nothing done.
Since we got back from Gullane last Sunday (the photo is of Katie, unrecognisable as a clown for the fancy dress) I have got practically nothing done work-wise.
It has made me realise how much I rely on good weather so that the children can play outside. 
Since last Sunday my little clown has been the only child at home during the day.  The week of rain has meant a constant battle with her as all she wants to do is weld herself to a screen (t.v., computer, Nintendo - doesn't really matter).  So instead of living the bucolic life of a Boden catalogue with children frolicking in the field and me working in my caravan smiling smugly, I have had to entertain her. (Oh what a bad Mummy)
Her older sister and cousin Christine are also at a fortnight of drama classes which require 3 hours a day of running them into Glasgow and back.
Actually now that I have documented the time problems, I see  that what I am trying to do is impossible - oh I do  love having a blog it gives  me a bit of perspective.
So Katie and I have been to the Gallery of Modern Art; through to Edinburgh, to Kelvingrove to look at the birds; to the theatre to see the Jacqueline Wilson play Secrets, to the cinema to see Angus, Thongs and Perfect Kissing; for a couple of damp walks; we have bought school shoes and pencil cases; we have eaten pain-au-chocolate at Fifi and Ally.  I am exhausted and broke yet still strangely guilty.
We have done more in the last week than in the past 3 months. 
But work-wise - mmm; I have made a new type of hanging heart.

I wasn't going to post today

I wasn't going to post today as the vomiting virus has worked its way North and attacked, so I am lying on the sofa feeling very sorry for myself.
However I am up to some light web hopping and came across this on Danny Seo's site - and he is right, wouldn't it be fantastic if all shops did it - or something else . . . .
The photo is another of Jane Robertson's - she wasn't that happy with it but I think it makes my dogwood heart look very beautiful,

Bleurgggh

Today is a cold grey wet day and I am feeling sorry for myself as only someone with a sore throat and head cold can.
Euan has lit the fires for me so I am intending to write off the day and snuggle up under a quilt to get on with some of this knitting .
I can't post proper photos as somebody might see!
The yarn is a beautiful cashmere marl from colourmart and the pattern simple enough to do while watching movies.  I shall go and see what is on TCM.
