Today was the last day of the Cabaret course that has dominated our lives for the past fortnight.
For the past two weeks Zoe and her cousin Christine have been attending the Royal Scottish Academy of Music and Dance to learn singing, musical theatre, stand-up, song writing and how to work an audience.
This afternoon and I joined other proud parents and siblings at cabaret style tables to watch the show. It was fantastic. I wasn't the only one to be surreptitiously wiping my eyes.
My charges, at 11 the youngest in the group, did a Mamma Mia duet backed by the rest of the company as ABBA style dancers, others performed very funny mimes, stand-up and the singing was exceptional.
Afterwards we waited in the cafe bar for them all - 15 11-17 year olds, red eyed and sniffling at the end of a great experience.
I've already been asked if I can book up again for next summer.
Sounds like a wonderful performance -- you should be very proud. :)
