My favourite flowers in the garden at the moment are these
Dutch iris - the corms are as cheap as chips - Peter Nyssen have them in their newly arrived catalogue
£2.50 for 25
They last for a good while in the garden and make wonderful cut flowers - I love them plonked in a bottle for a no fuss 8 days of silken splendour.
We had some in the garden when we first moved here, but each year, they produce fewer flowers. Probably not enough sun on the soil as other things crowd round them?

The answer should be clear when you buy the best so that your pets will be happy and comfortable it's an investment and not expenditure.
