The times of year that I love best are those where the garden teeters between two seasons.
That is what it is like this week - walking down to the workshop first thing the grass is soaking with a heavy dew but the sky is bright blue and the sun hot.
summer flowers are still blooming, like these tripods of sweet peas
but the nip in the air has changed the colours in the garden - there are more smoky colours
like these bronze fennel flowers
set off by bright yellows and oranges with very punchy purply pinks
This is crocosmia Lucifer which grows at the edge of the garden, fighting it out with wild willowherb - I can never bring myself to get rid of it.
Even the leaves have begun to turn.
The flowers we picked yesterday for sale were quite different from those we picked last week.
I took most of these photos at 7.30 this morning - the sound of bees buzzing about was amazing - and I counted over 50 red admiral butterflies.
It cheered me up no end after the worries of watching the news last night and this morning.
So lovely. We too keep swathes of willowherb, both at the edges and in the borders. Love it!

Love the Willowherb but we have it wild on the lane so I keep it out of the garden. Sweet Peas are on my fave list. It's nice to have this reality of the garden to bring us away from the other crap going on in the world.

My sweetpeas are only just starting to come to full bloom! We too have masses of willowherb in the hedges and around the lake. I have let the bindweed take over our old rotting fence by the lane and while once I would have pulled it all out, I have left it to run wild and the pink of the willowherb and the white of the bindweed is beautiful.

Those photos are amazing! You did a great job taking pictures of those beautiful flowers. Do you have a picture of the entire garden too?

The charging system's job is to keep the battery fully charged, and to supply voltage to meet the vehicle's electrical needs.
