This week, in between the Mothers Day orders, we have been embroidering hundreds of space hoppers for wholesale orders.
Our space hopper design is a very personal one - I designed it for my 40th birthday a couple of years ago when I was thinking of things that had been important in my life when I was my daughters' ages. Back in 1976, the summer that we moved house from one end of the village to the other, my space hopper was my main mode of transport, ideal for bouncing round the walkways that criss crossed the housing estate.
Of course I wasn't alone - even today people I meet seem to divide into those who had a Space Hopper and those who wanted one.
And here is baby Grumplin' from The Perishers 3 years later with his Christmas present . .
Its a lovely design to cut and sew
I love the way that Kit's neatly drawn hoppers make a graphic pattern.
and I love embroidering their evil grin.
