Last year my Mum was diagnosed with breast cancer, and over the summer she had an operation which was successful. At exactly the same time a fellow painter was going through exactly the same thing - as they put together an exhibition in Edinburgh they were fitting their painting around radiotherapy appointments and check ups.
Today is the private view of an exhibition the whole painting group is putting on in aid of the Breast Cancer Institute. If anyone is in North Berwick this afternoon - you are more than welcome 3-5pm
The exhibition is at Kirkports Gallery, behind North Berwick main street opposite St Andrews churchyard. It opens Today 3-5 (when there will be wine etc) and then 1st, 2nd,5th,6th, 8th, 9th, 12th & 13th March 10.30-4.30.
I am about to head across there with Euan and the girls.
This is one of my Mum's paintings of our cockerell. Its an emotional day.
Wow that painting is absolutely amazing. And what amazing determination to organise an exhibition in spite of all her treatment. Go Mum! x

What a gorgeous painting, the blue behind the cockerel is so vivid against his red comb, like Caireen, it reminds me of Crawhall too.x
