With temperatures going down to -16 and keeping the snow crisp and deep we are pretty much snowed in.
This year I am really enjoying the festivities. A series of glitches with floor laying meant that it was Christmas Eve before we could begin to decorate and I must say that I found the whole concentrated rush much cheerier. Our new (still to be finished)kitchen dining/living space is bright and light with soaring ceilings and I felt it needed something less heavy than a traditional spruce. We needed to cut down a birch from the front anyway . . .
The other decorations we made was a series of munchkin pumpkins left over from the harvest. These were sprayed white and lined up along the windows and table with zinc candle-pots.
The other great thing is that I'm not fed u[p with the decorations yet - usually I am champing to get them down by 27th. these will stay till after Hogmanay.
I hope that you are all having a fantastic time.
