It may be dark and drizzly this morning but there are still some parts of the garden that are breathtaking.
Despite their annual brutal shearing at Christmas wreath making time the dogwoods continue to grow and look like billowing tapestries at the edge of the garden.

That is a lovely cheering sight - it is very grey and damp here, too, and my feet are very cold!

I love these leaves but I dug up all our dogwood as I couldn't bear the stems everywhere like dead men's fingers - but now I'm thinking ....the leaves are very pretty! t.x

I don't think I would ever rake my leaves if they all looked like that dogwood leaf.
