My own craft space.
The renovation of our airstream trailer carries on apace, the walls were painted last week and earlier this week the marmoleum floor was put down.
Yesterday I began to move in.
We had been looking for an airstream for ages - I had a very clear image of a giant shiny pod in the garden surrounded by tall grasses. As is always the case with these things, the longer we dithered the higher the prices climbed until it looked like being airstream owners would be one of those things that passed us by.
Then we found this one on Ebay - it had been used as a site office so all the 1970s fittings had been taken out and it had been broken into, the door handle forced and graffiti sprayed on the interior (fortunately not the exterior). The owner fell out of love with her and she was too far removed from the shiny happy trailer to attract much interest.
We "won" her after a tense night of watching the bidding and hovering over the "bid now" button. She came in at about the same price as a cheap wooden summerhouse.
There is still a lot of work to do - Euan will make her a deck to stand on amidst the flower sand we also have the mammoth task of polishing the exterior - but by the end of the week the interior will be done.
I am so excited. This is the first time that I have had a craft space of my own - I usually work on the kitchen table and my materials are stored in an alcove like room which houses all our books and other miscellaneous junk.
I had a wonderful time yesterday afternoon beginning to move my bits and pieces.
Look how TIDY it is. I am almost afraid to begin work.
Wow!
As you see from the number of comments I have generated over the last few days I will have to be surgically removed from my PC as I am on a campaign to get on top of paperwork before the school holidays start tomorrow. For some reason in Wiltshire this year the Easter hols are not at Easter.
I am envious of your airstream. My dream ebay purchase is a green Morris Traveller. There's one on at the moment..but until business is properly established I shall have to content myself with the toy version on my desk - also bought on ebay.

wow Jane. That is a tidy space. The marmoleum looks great. I have just posted about the start of making my home space. It's a long way off, but seeing yours has given me hope that we will get there in the end.
Well here's to your new space it's fabulous, may you be very happy there. Enjoy!

Every girl should have a sewing nook and yours is the creme de la creme:) Love the floor.
What do you have to clean the exterior with? Bar Keepers Friend?

Thanks for your lovely comments - I worked in my new space this afternoon for a bit (in between wedding paperwork and planning) and it was lovely - much better light than in the kitchen.
The only trouble is that I am creating this beautiful, calm oasis from the train wreck that is my old fabric store and there will be a lot of left over junk that can't be allowed to sully my trailer. . . .freecycle?

Jane, your "ME" space looks fab, I am very jealous. My corsages arrived today(beautifully packaged) and I had to let everyone know how lovely they are. Your previous pictures did not do them justice!
Anyone thinking of treating themselves (or on behalf of a loved one - my lovely hubby bought mine without even realising) should take a look at your latest newsletter and order one.
Enjoy your time away - Jacqui

This space you have is amazing, until now I didn't know what an airstream trailer was. You must show us the outside too, once you have those lovely plants growing up around it. I'd love one of these, but not in our drive! x

It looks absolutely amazing Jane! So tidy too! I'm looking forward to seeing the outside view as well. It must be heaven to have a space of your own to work in. I've been a kitchen table worker for the last few years too but getting my own space in my new home. Can't wait!
